A
baby Dalmatian... |
Bring
your costumes and frocks along!
An important reminder
to those visitors to Madeira who arrive in time for
the carnival: bring your costumes along!
A public carnival
parade is held on Tuesday the 7th March. The best
looking or most absurd fancy dressed participants
can go on to win some spectacular prizes....
(Urr..., no, we do
not know what those prizes will be).
But of-course it
is the reverie and fun that will be the most precious
of rewards for this unique day.

| The popular
street carnival for the locals to compete in costume
dress takes place on the 7th March this year |
For the participants
in exhibitionist mode the more ephemeral prize of
public adulation will be inebriating. Just
wipe clean those mothballs off of that short frock
before you participate. And do behave.
Where to go while
the parade is not on?
Try several places: Copacabana at the Carlton
Park Hotel, Vespas in front of the harbour,
the discotheque Farol in the Pestana Carlton
Hotel, or just mingle into the many smaller clubs
and bars in and around Funchal.
