Do you want to participate in this years Carnival ?

After the continued partying and merriment on Sunday and through onto Monday you can dress up in your own weird and wacky style for Tuesday. That is, of-course, if you have survived the last three days.
On Tuesday the local populace dress up for a popular procession that begins in the "Zona Velha", or Old Zone, of Funchal. This is a competitive participation where the "best" dressed participants are chosen and awarded various prizes - including the selection of Carnival King and Carnival Queen.
Participants should register for the competition between 13H00 and 15H30 in the afternoon on the same Tuesday (the 16th) - for the procession that follows just after 15H30. Please ask the tourism desk in Avenida Arriaga where you can register yourself.
