edited December 1969 in General
Hello!
Can someone inform me if the camp site in Porto Moniz is available?
I got the information that it was moved to another place. Where?
Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,
I am newly join in this site. This site is very useful to others.Camping is an outdoor recreational activity. The participants, known as campers, get away from urban areas, their home region or civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or more nights, usually at a campsite. Camping may involve the use of a tent, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all.Camping as a recreational activity became popular in the early 20th century. Campers frequent national parks, other publicly owned natural areas, and privately owned campgrounds.Camping is also used as a cheap form of accommodation for people attending large open air events such as sporting meetings and music festivals. Organisers will provide a field and some basic amenities.

  • I know that this request was made a long time ago, but just in case anyone else is looking for the Porto Moniz camp site...

The Porto Moniz campsite was relocated to nearby Ribeira da Janela in September 2004.

http://www.madeira-camping.com/ehtml/campsites.html gives details of 3 campsites in Madeira, but their Porto Moniz details are definitely out of date - I'm not too sure about the other two campsite details.

http://love-madeira.com/madeira-ribeira-da-janela-campite.html gives details of the Ribeira da Janela campsite, but doesn't have online booking.

If you want to camp rough in Madeira, I believe officially you need a permit. Contact the Office of Tourism:

Their email is given at the bottom of the page.
  • the authors move on to their "25 keys to dreaming big," including instructions on how to build a group of mentors who will help make your dreams come true. Charitable giving and strategies for leaving a legacy round out the final chapters. While most of these ideas won't be new to self-help readers or Oprah fans, those who haven't considered the impact of negative childhood lessons about money or current limitations to dreaming bigger may find the book fairly insightful. For those who have encountered these ideas before but haven't implemented them, the exercises and suggestions provide a concrete call to action. Until readers have built enough wealth to attend the actual Maui Millionaire event (priced at $30,000), this book—and its frequently referenced online tools——provide a decent insight into millionaire thinking.
