Inaugurated in 1987, the 4 star Hotel Windsor is situated in a relatively quiet part of the centre of Funchal.

The name of the hotel is borrowed from the Treaty of Windsor signed in exactly the same year a few centuries earlier. A copy of the treaty hangs on one of the walls in the establishment.

The hotel serves holiday makers and business clientele who want to be in and near all the public attractions (museums, cultural centres, wine tasting establishments, theatre, churches, gardens, bus routes) and/or official facilities (University, courts of Law, Municipality, the Market, and so on).
