They have maintained and improved upon those very features that make their home so much a traditional style home of Madeira: satin green shutters with basalt jambs adorning light inviting windows, a typical vine or passion fruit trellis extending over and beyond the front doorway, the red terracotta tiles with white cementing, solid iron rods supporting the veranda awning, the quaint carpentry in embroidered fashion that hangs like the edge of a table cloth off the lip of the veranda awning and the dry stone walls dotted about the property built to support the terraced lots of cultivated and landscaped lots.

Solar da Bica assures guests a comfortable and pleasant stay. The property comprises 10 bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, each equipped with a cable television, a direct dial telephone and central heating.

Common or shared facilities includes a comforatble and large living room with fireplace, a self-service bar, terrace, porch, internet access, childrens playing area and gardens wit breathtaking views. There is ample parking on a separate lot behind the house.

Additional attractions include the magnificent heated and covered swimming pool with skylight windows. The swimming pool also offers a gymnasium set at one end of the pool and a lovely sauna at the other end.

For barbecue cooking enthusiasts there is a unique private area for barbecueing with a fully equipped open plan kitchen, a traditional stone oven and a large outside sitting area around a large basalt slab that serves as a table.
