At last the facelift that everybody has been expecting for some time now. When we were first set on course to produce this site we did not realise how much work it would be. Nor did we imagine how much fun it would be either. Information and resources regarding Madeira were difficult to find and collate. If the piece of information you needed was found it was, invariably, in another language you did not understand. Like the wonderful article that we found on Madeira wines - in Hebrew ! (The wines section is being currently developed by the charitable Lucy. More about her later.) We recognise, importantly, that information wants to be free. What does this mean ? It is the spirit to provide in good faith information resources that may be of benefit to the larger society in that little “global village” - that we have become in the post dawn of the information age. We will plonk our fingers on these keyboards to pursue that aim. To that end we would also be providing free web space to those persons and organisations that want to publish information on the web. Ofcourse, this would mean a barrage or deluge of hundreds of subscribers that we would not be able to support. So we must restrict the resouces we have to non-profit and Madeira related items. We accept and encourage commercial sites or publications under our umbrella. A fee is involved for this service, though. Please contact Limbo at his webpage. In addition, we are not able to accept publications that are political, religious, pornographic, deliberately harmful to human rights, or considered illegal in the European Union. |
